Military Friendly Church

The term  Military Friendly Church was coined by Admiral Mike Mullen in a 2008 Memorial Day speech.

The military and veteran services have recognized for a while the need to have the church intentionally offer services of support and healing for active duty, veterans and, their families.

Jesus ministered to soldiers and His church has the opportunity to do the same.

St. Paul’s is a Military Friendly Church by both its historical support of active duty and veterans serving our country and their families and in our active support of the Marine Corps Air Station and Yuma Proving Ground.  Several of our most active families have previously served at one of the two installations in Yuma and have chosen to retire and remain at St. Paul’s.

At  St. Paul’s  we are especially supportive of our military.  We hope you will consider St. Paul’s your home away from home while you are serving in the Yuma area at Yuma Proving Ground or Marine Corps Air Station, Yuma  and/or if you choose to resettle here after separation from the military, or as retirees .

St. Paul’s is located on the corner of 16th Street and 14th Avenue.  If you desire an Episcopal clergy presence for an event on base, we would be happy to contact the base chaplain to assist in any way.
